The Illinois State Board of Elections, sitting as the State Officers Electoral Board (“SOEB”), is responsible for hearing and passing upon objection petitions as
described by Article 10 of the Election Code. (See 10 ILCS 5/10 et seq.).
This database contains State Officers Electoral Board decisions. Additional materials are available, by request, at the State Board of Elections.
Decisions are organized by topic and are searchable by topic, case number, cycle, objector, and candidate.
This database covers selected topics most commonly seen by the Board and is not a complete collection of decisions or materials.
Case law, statutes, policies, procedures, and rules are all subject to change and materials in this database may be outdated as a result.
Moreover, decisions by the SOEB should not be considered precedential. This database is not intended to serve as or replace the advice of legal counsel.
