Board Members - Charles W. Scholz

Charles W. Scholz
Charles W. Scholz - Board Member Member of the State Board of Elections since July 2011, Mr. Scholz served as Chairman from July 2015 – June 2017 and served as Vice Chairman from July 2013 – June 2015. He began his career in public service as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois, directing the Western Illinois Regional Office. He also served as the Downstate Political Director for United States Senator Paul Simon. He was elected Mayor of Quincy in 1993 and served in that position for 12 years. Since leaving office, Mr. Scholz has been in private practice, now with the law firm of Scholz and Scholz LLP. He also served on the Illinois Liquor Control Commission from 2010 - 2011.

Mr. Scholz graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Walter F. George College of Law at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. Chuck also holds honorary degrees from Quincy University in Quincy, Illinois, and Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. He has received numerous awards for his dedication to humanitarian and charitable causes.
