Offices Up For Election

Even-Numbered Years
Candidates can seek office on several levels—federal, statewide, legislative, judicial district, circuit or subcircuit, or county. The Candidate’s Guide for the current year lists the offices that will appear on the ballot.

In 2008, a separate publication is available for candidates who wish to run as Presidential Preference candidates or as candidates for delegate or alternate delegate.

Candidates seeking Judicial office should periodically check the Judicial vacancy posting that is updated as the Supreme Court declares vacancies.

Candidates who file for county office will find general information in the Candidate’s Guide but are advised to contact their election authority for signature requirements and the availability of forms.

Odd-Numbered Years
Candidates can seek Township, Municipal, Park, Library, Community College, School, or other Special District office.

The Candidates Guide for the Consolidated Election will list the offices that are scheduled to appear on the ballot.
