Interactive GIS Map

http://gis.elections.il.gov The State Board of Elections is pleased to present this interactive map depicting the district boundaries enacted pursuant to Public Act 97-0014 and Public Act 97-0006 respectively, superimposed upon satellite imagery.

The State Board of Elections stresses that these are the districts candidates currently circulating nominating petitions for placement on the March 20, 2012 General Primary ballot, are seeking to represent. These new districts will have no official representation until the candidates for the various offices are elected at the November 6, 2012 General Election. The individuals elected on November 6th will take office in January of 2013. These maps will be used for all Congressional and Legislative elections through 2020.

Following the general election in November of 2012, the Board will update information regarding the elected Congressional, Legislative, and Representative officials, including office addresses and other contact information.

http://gis.elections.il.gov While every effort is made to ensure accuracy, if a voter has a question concerning their Legislative or Congressional district, the Board suggests contacting your local election authority. The local county clerk or Board of Election Commissioners has the authority to make the final determination regarding voter district placement.

NOTE: At this time, the validity of the state’s Congressional and Legislative District maps is the subject of federal litigation. Such litigation could result in changes to either or both District map boundaries, which may cause a voter’s address to be located in a District other than the one appearing on this website. The litigation consists of the following cases:
Committee For A Fair And Balanced Map, et al., v. Illinois State Board of Elections, et al. No. 1:11-cv-05065 (N.D. Ill.)
League of Women Voters of Illinois v. Quinn, et al. No. 1:11-cv-05569 (N.D. Ill.)
Radogno, et al., v. Illinois State Board of Elections, et al. No. 1:11-cv-04884 (N.D. Ill.)
