Help America Vote Act (HAVA)
The Illinois HAVA State Planning Committee drafted and the Illinois State Board of Elections first adopted the Illinois State Plan as required under the Help America Vote Act of 2002 (HAVA) (Public Law 107-252) in August of 2003. A second, revised, State Plan was adopted in 2004.

HAVA requires that each year a state receives federal HAVA funds, the state is required to submit a State Plan. Last year, no additional HAVA funds were received and the State Plan was not revised. However, even though no additional HAVA funds are anticipated, we have revised the State Plan to reflect current activity and recent accomplishments.

Accordingly, please find attached the updated version of the Illinois State Plan.
