Registration and Voting

Voter Registration
Am I registered to vote in Illinois? Illinois citizens may check to see if they are registered to vote.  The pamphlet, Rules and Procedures of Illinois Voting Process, describes the rules and procedures surrounding the voter registration process in Illinois.

Voting Before Election Day
In Illinois, a voter who meets certain criteria may cast an early or vote by mail ballot in person (at the office of the election authority, select sites, or at a health care facility) or by mail.

If you have questions about voting by mail see the State Board of Election's Voting by Mail Pamphlet.

Eligible voters may optionally participate in early voting.

Voting on Election Day
Regular elections are held on the third Tuesday in March (primary) and the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November (general) of even-numbered years.
