   July 1, 2010 marks the first stage of the implementation of Public Act 96-0832 On that date, political committees may begin re-designating themselves from state or local committees to candidate political committees, political action committees, political party committees, or ballot initiative committees, with specific rules governing each type. January 1, 2011, will bring quarterly reports, contribution limits, independent expenditure reports, recordkeeping changes, and new rules for Schedule A-1s.
