| Description: | First day for the election authority to publish notice of the Consolidated Election. The notice must include the polling hours, and the offices for which candidates will be elected. Such notice must also include a list precinct polling addresses unless published separately at least ten (10) days prior to the Consolidated Election. Such notice of the Consolidated Election shall be published once in one or more newspapers published in each political subdivision, and if there is no such newspaper, then published once in a local community newspaper having general circulation in the subdivision, and also once in a newspaper published in the county wherein the political subdivisions, or portions thereof, having such elections are situated. (10 ILCS 5/12-4)
First day for the election authority to publish notice of a question of public policy appearing on the ballot at the Consolidated Election. Such notice shall be published once in a local community newspaper having general circulation in the political or governmental subdivision. The notice shall also be given at least ten (10) days before the date of election by posting a copy of the notice at the principal office of the election authority. The local election official shall also post a copy of the notice at the principal office of the political or governmental subdivision, or if there is no principal office at the building in which the governing body of the political or governmental subdivision held its first meeting of the calendar year in which the referendum is being held.
