Charles W. Scholz began his career in public service as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois,
directing the Western Illinois Regional Office. Chuck also served as the Downstate Political Director for
United States Senator Paul Simon. Chuck was elected Mayor of Quincy in 1993, and served in that position for
12 years. Since leaving office, Chuck has been in private practice, now with the law firm of Scholz and Scholz LLP.
Chuck also served on the Illinois Liquor Control Commission from 2010 to 2011.
Chuck graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from
Walter F. George College of Law at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. Chuck also holds honorary degrees from
Quincy University in Quincy, Illinois, and Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. He has received numerous
awards for his dedication to humanitarian and charitable causes.
