State Officers Electoral Board

The initial meeting of the Illinois State Officers Electoral Board (SOEB) to hear objections to independent and new political party candidates on the ballot for the Special Congressional Election and the Consolidated Election will take place on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. The meeting will be held in Suite 14-100 in the James R. Thompson Center, 100 W. Randolph in Chicago. The meeting can also be attended in the Springfield Office of the State Board of Elections at 2329 S. MacArthur Blvd. The meeting will be connected via videoconference.

The purpose of the meeting of the SOEB is to call the cases, accept appearances of the parties, adopt the Rules of Procedure and appoint the hearing officers who will preside over the cases. The parties must attend this first meeting. Case management conferences between the parties and their assigned hearing officers will take place at the conclusion of the meeting of the SOEB.
